Kids of the capital get Daman World Triathlon Abu Dhabi 2019 underway!
08 March, 2019
The Daman World Triathlon Abu Dhabi 2019 kicked off this morning, as children aged 7-15 took to the track of the renowned Yas Marina Circuit.
In the most inclusive triathlon in history, residents and visitors of the capital enjoyed the multi-discipline race early this morning at the sun-bathed Yas Island venue. And this year, 686 juniors took part – a 32% increase on the 2018 edition.
Winner of the girls’ Junior Duathlon category, 14-year-old Juliette D’Othee, said: “Today was just amazing! I’m really happy with how I raced and having the crowds cheer us on was so cool. It’s been so well organised and you can see there are more people here than last year – seeing my friends in the crowd was really nice too!
“I really think people of my age, even younger, should give triathlon a go,” continued Juliette. “The main thing is to enjoy it and have fun!”
